Graham Smith (1955-2020)

Graham grew up jumping out of empty boxes in his father’s family-vaudeville magic show. A long time Actors' Equity member, he appeared in over two hundred plays and eleven films. He worked for Charlotte Repertory Theatre from 1980-2002, spent fifteen seasons with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival and was a company member with People’s Light & Theatre in Philadelphia from 1998 to 2020 as well as a company member at Florida Repertory Theatre from 2012 to 2020. He worked at many theatres, including Riverside Theatre, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, N.C. Stage Company, Festival Stage, Cape Fear Regional Theatre and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. He lived in Charlotte with his wife, Audrey Brown and many big yellow dogs. For Playworks, he appeared in Kith and Kin, Open Season, Some Things That Can Go Wrong at 35,000 Feet (premiere), and The Christians - his final appearance in the area that was his lifelong home. A new project is in development for 2023 and is dedicated to Graham.

Here are just a few of Graham's many credits over his 40 year career.
